Admissions
Our admissions process
Please refer to the admissions policy for further information.
Parents
We offer education to young people aged 5 to 16 with a diagnosis of autism, who have been referred by their local authority.
Our admissions policy has a step-by-step guide to help you through the process of getting your child registered for Thames Valley School.
Whether you have already included our school on your child’s Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan, or whether you are concerned that your current school is not meeting your child’s needs and are considering other options, we hope you find this chart useful.
We also encourage you to contact us to find out more about what we provide, and to arrange a visit.
Oversubscription criteria
The school will seek to work collaboratively with all neighbouring local authorities to manage referrals. All applicants for whom the school would be able to meet needs and therefore be an appropriate placement, will be placed on a waiting list when there are no current vacancies. Where there are more applicants than vacancies, places will be prioritised according to the admissions criteria which also acts as the oversubscription criteria. Please refer to the admissions policy for further information.
