David works as a general manager for an IT company. He is married with two children, one of whom attends Church Lawton School.

In his spare time David teaches martial arts at Crewe GTI taekwondo club and is a multiple time British champion in taekwondo and kick boxing. He is also a coach ambassador for Fighting for Autism which is a charity that raises autism awareness via martial arts.

David regularly fundraises for The Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity (SANDS) and the National Autistic Society (NAS) by taking part in various challenges such as triathlons and cycling events.

David is an elected parent governor of the Local Governing Board.
