Main information

Type of service: Counsellor

I am a qualified psychotherapist based in High Barnet, North London (EN5) and am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I can offer counselling face-to-face or online via video call to adults with autism, parents, partners and siblings.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Educational Psychology as well as a Master’s Degree in Applied Cognitive Neuroscience. I have qualified as a psychotherapist with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy. My therapy modality is integrative, which means that I can choose from a few different approaches to suit the individual person and their way of working, and also the issues that they would like to bring to our counselling sessions. I find this important, as I appreciate that no two people are the same and everyone benefits from a tailored approach to their counselling sessions. I can adapt my counselling approach taking into account a person's background, past experiences, as well as religious and cultural influences and the way that autism may affect them individually. I tend to work in a person-centred and psychodynamic way, adding CBT and Mindfulness approaches where applicable.

My way of working is primarily humanistic, which means that I believe the key to a person's healing and development lies in their ability to feel safe and supported in a non-judgemental environment where the counsellor empathises with their situation. It can be an environment where someone feels comfortable to be honest, emotional and reflective to seek insight into their situation and what they would like to change.

My fee is £60 per standard counselling hour, which lasts 50 min.
