ASD Assessment Service Powys

Main information

Type of service: Assessment, Diagnostic services

The ASD assessment service in Powys covers all ages. The Social Communication Assessment Teams (SCAT) are responsible for the assessment and diagnosis of children and young people up to and including the age of 18 years with social and/or communication difficulties. A process for adults is also established in county and we offer brief support to help adults and their families make sense of a diagnosis after the assessment. We will provide a written report. We will make recommendations and suggestions about services that might be able to offer support after a diagnosis. Our post diagnostic services are in development. All referrals for assessment, whether of adults or children, are managed via Rebecca James.
