Ash Trees School is a primary school for approximately 120 pupils with learning difficulties. The school provides for the full range of learning difficulties. Approximately one third of the school roll has a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). There are two designated classes for pupils with ASD at Key Stages 1 and 2. Other pupils are included in mixed ability classes throughout the school. The school is purpose-built with facilities such as a hydrotherapy pool, soft play room, multisensory rooms and a sensory garden. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. We are a local authority maintained special day school that caters for all children who have a statement of special educational needs (SEN). We have descrete profound and multiple learning disability (PMLD) and autism spectrum condition (ASC) classes alongside our severe learning disability (SLD) classes.
