Dr Edwards provides assessment towards exploring a possible diagnosis of autism spectrum conditions (ASCs). This usually involves a combination of semi-structured interviews, use of psychometrics and other diagnostic tools. It is useful to be able to discuss the individual in question with someone who knew him/her as a child to gain a developmental history. In addition he will work to offer advice and liaison for accessing appropriate services. In some instances Dr Edwards provides therapeutic support to individuals with a diagnosis of ASC drawing on an integrative set of approaches, such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Systemic and Behavioural models.
