Main information

The name of the unit for children with severe/complex needs as well as those with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the Specialist Teaching and Resource Centre (STAR) Centre and Discovery within Bunscoill Rhhumsaa (website: www2.sch.im/groups/bunscoillrhumsaa). Referral is via high level need panel decision. Small class and specialist provision for pupils meeting criteria of High Level Need (HLN). Facilities include classrooms; multi-sensory room; suspended equipment; enclosed secure outdoor classroom area; access and inclusion into mainstream as per individual pupil. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
