Balance Asperger Syndrome Team

Main information

Balance Asperger Syndrome Team provides group and individual support to adults (18+ years) with a diagnosis of Asperger syndrome or high functioning autism. We offer: Training Programmes (personal development - preparation for work - keeping safe - conversation skills); and Individual sessions to provide support and guidance for a range of issues including benefits, employment, housing and education. We also provide support for adults with Asperger syndrome to live independently in their own homes. Social groups (18-25 years and 25+ years) meet regularly to enjoy social activities together. Residents of Kingston Borough can self-refer or be referred by a professional, and are funded by Kingston Council to access support. Residents of other boroughs will need funding from their local authority/health authority and need to be referred by their social worker, care coordinator or general practitioner (GP). Referrals come via Kingston Council Youth Support Services.
