Cambian Wing College is for day and residential learners aged 16-25 years with high-functioning autism (HFA) and Asperger syndrome. The college provides post-16 person-centred learning programmes, incorporating vocational learning, practical life skills development and therapeutic support. The college offers day and up to 52 week residential placements. Staff work alongside learners within an accepting environment geared to encouraging young people to accept themselves, understand their diagnosis, tolerate others, build self-confidence and experience success as they make the transition to adult life. Links within the community allow learners to broaden their educational horizons in a mainstream environment. Cambian Wing College's location in Bournemouth allows learners easy access to public transport, local amenities and shopping centres, where independence training further prepares them for life in the community.
