Child Development & Disability Service (Complex Communication Team)
Main information
Type of service: Diagnostic services
Assessment procedure: Initial assessment - general developmental assessment by paediatrician. Then multi-disciplinary assessment in clinic and nursery setting, together with home observation (this includes assessment group in Child Development Centre), leading to diagnosis if appropriate.
Follow up service: Support from clinical psychologists, speech therapist, physiotherapist, play specialist and social worker can all be provided.
Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes: clinical psychology; paediatrics; speech and language therapy; occupational therapy, Early Years Team (Education).
