The service operates eight specialist resource bases attached to mainstream schools (Lord Williams School; St Andrew's School, Chinnor; St Nicholas School, Marston, The Cherwell School, Caldecott School, Fitzharrys School, Queensway School and The Warriner School) providing inclusion into class, social inclusion opportunities, as well as differentiated work in the Base to support students across the spectrum who can benefit from the inclusion opportunities offered by a Base on a mainstream site. The Marlborough CE School is also a mainstream school with a resource base attached which comes under this service. The service also provides an advisory teacher service to all Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) schools, supporting pupils with an autism spectrum condition (ASC) in mainstream settings. A creative arts therapy team supports young people in the resource bases and an individual learning team is established to provide bespoke programmes to children and young people in crisis situations. Through a traded service with Abingdon & Witney College, the Communication and Interaction Support Service also provides advisory support to students with ASC in the Further Education (FE) setting.
