We use the strengths, interests and abilities of clients of all ages to improve their social skills, communication skills and imagination/empathy. The social skills developed include conflict resolution, problem solving, group skills, team building and social cues. Communication skills development includes the message context, body language, joint attention and listening skills. Imagination/empathy skills development includes play and creative approaches. One particular approach is the Lego Therapeutic Approach where individuals work with either an adult or in teams to build a Lego model. In addition to the skills mentioned above, we also work on team building skills during these sessions. We run a monthly playscheme for families with primary school children on the spectrum. This is for the whole family and at least 1 parent/carer needs to stay with their child/children. This is aimed at families.
We also provide training for professionals, e.g. autism-awareness. We can provide independent expert reports and make visits to a client's home or school etc.
Creatovators is a not-for-profit organisation.
