Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) - Sutton
Main information
We are a generic tier 3 mental health service and provide this service to young people until they are 17 and 12 months. We are not a specialist autism spectrum disorder (ASD) service and would only see young people with ASD and related disability if they had a mental health need - assessments of ASD are undertaken at the ASD/attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) Hub and the referral process would expect a health professional to make referrals to Patricia Thornton at the Single Point of Referral in the Located Address. We do not cater specifically for the following groups: attention deficit disorder (ADD)/ADHD (medication treatment only), Asperger syndrome, Autism, Autism spectrum, Challenging behaviour, Emotional and behavioural difficulties, High functioning autism, Learning disability, Mental health problems of a complex and severe nature, Obsessive-compulsive disorder, Pervasive developmental disorders, Social and communication disorders and Tourette syndrome.
Assessment procedure: Careful developmental history and observations and liaison with other professionals. The clinical psychologist Angel Adams uses ADOS.
Follow up service: Yes. Consultation where required, eg. if there is a crisis or if advice is sought. Do not provide regular follow-up otherwise.
Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes, but not for every assessment. Clinical psychologist; psychiatrist.
