This is a 95 place specialist primary school mainly for youngsters with additional social communication needs- usually associated with a diagnosis of autism/Asperger syndrome. The classrooms are modern and well equipped. Children have full access to the National Curriculum, suitably differentiated to meet their specific needs. In addition, core areas of deficit are addressed through EHCP/IEP/ bespoke programmes of support. The school works closely with Lincolnshire's Psychology, Medical and Speech and Language Services and external bodies including specialist OT services and The National Autistic Society. The school is actively involved in many research and development opportunities via The University of Lincoln. Teaching styles are predominantly kinaesthetic and visually mediated. Each team is supported by additional staff. Volunteers may be accepted to work within the academy. The academy operates within the NAS SPELL framework -Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links . The former Outreach Service has morphed into the Lincolnshire Working Together Team . Through the school and outreach service, Gosberton House Academy is able to offer a wide range of training opportunities for professionals and families including AET accredited training.
