Type of service: Day schools, Schools
Hazel Oak is an all age community special school for children with learning difficulties. All pupils have a statement of special educational needs (SEN) and are referred to us via the Local Authority (LA). Our curriculum encompasses the requirements of the National Curriculum but offers additional challenge-based learning as part of our Business and Enterprise status. We have an individualised approach to meeting learning needs and work effectively with a group of agencies to ensure support for all aspects of learning, including emotional and social support. Students are able to gain a rrange of accreditation, including General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSEs) and Entry levels. Our sixth form's curriculum focuses on basic and vocational skills.
