The Hawthorn Family Support Centre is run by Leeds Mencap to provide support and information to parents and carers of children aged from birth to 3 years with a learning disability. At the centre parents and carers can attend support groups with the simple aim of extending friendship at a time when many parents are experiencing a great deal of stress, whilst their child is cared for in the playroom by qualified and experienced staff.
