Helen Chesters has experience in the NHS in both adult and paediatric posts, has worked in a specialist education and therapy centre, and gained a masters degree in Autism in 2004. Helen's aim is to introduce a functional communication system, making the individual a more independent communicator. She provides a range of services, including: detailed assessments using formal, standardised assessments as well as informal tools, which include observation schedules; detailed and independent expert reports, which include recommendations; therapy programmes and intervention packages; production of materials and their subsequent implementation; liaison with parents/carers/family members/staff members; training; reviews. Helen can visit a client's home, school or nursery and can attend tribunals and education appeal committees. Helen Chesters is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice and is registered with the Health Professions Council.
