Interact Sheffield Speech & Language Therapy is a new independent service for South Yorkshire and Greater Manchester providing a holistic and professional service by Ruth Burtonwood. Ruth is a Speech & Language Therapist who through familial and professional experience is highly specialist in autism spectrum disorder (ASD). She holds a Masters degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and has studied Sensory Integration at Postgraduate Level. She has worked within well-known ASD specialist provisions and considers collaborative working to be the key to success. Ruth can also offer support and interventions regarding AAC, speech, language and communication needs and medico-legal reports. Ruth has had training in a variety of interventions including PECS, SCERTS, Intensive Interaction, Sensory Integration, TEACCH, Person Centred Planning, Pathological Demand Avoidance, Makaton, Sign-a-long, Behaviour Support, and Social Stories to name a few. Support is available to schools, parents and adult services.
