Leicester City Council - Learning Disabilities
Main information
Type of service: Service providers
The Learning Disabilities Service works with adults to help them to develop skills and have choice and control over their lives. We believe adults should be able to have more choice, improved independence, know their rights and be part of the local community. To help do this the service works closely with eligible adults, family, friends, and carers to decide what care and support is available to be safe and as independent as possible..
An assessment form needs to be completed and if eligible support will be given in the form of a personal budget. As part of the assessment, information about a range of opportunities that exist which may help to develop skills and improve independence such as employment, training schemes, and community groups will be available. Depending on individual circumstances a contribution towards the cost of any care and support you receive may apply. A financial assessment would be carried out to decide this..
