Lesley is a qualified, registered and experienced counsellor/ psychotherapist, accrediated with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Throughout sessions she will work alongside you as you make sense of what is happening, until you come to some sort of resolution. She offers both short term counselling and solution focused therapy (up to 6 sessions) and longer term counselling/psychotherapy (6 sessions ++) based upon your needs. Lesley provides you with a safe 'containing' space, she will not judge you, no matter what issues you bring to counselling. Lesley has counselled clients with a range of presenting issues including anxiety, low mood and depression, low self-esteem, complex bereavement; including bereaved parents and those bereaved by murder or suicide; clients with eating disorders, trauma work (including post-traumatic stress disorder), obsessive compulsive behaviour, self-harm and suicidal thoughts. Lesley has worked therapeutically within Child and Adolescent Mental Health for the past 20 years; working with children, young people and their families. Lesley has experience of working with both children and adults with learning disabilities and developmental disorders including autism spectrum conditions (ASCs). This can relate to issues of diagnosis and what this means for you or about adapting my work to meet your needs. It may also include developing social stories, detailed functional analysis or sensory assessments. She gained her Post Graduate Diploma in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) from Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) in 2002.
