Main information

Type of service: Hospital services

Mackaness is a purpose-built 15 bed medium secure autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) service for men aged between 18 and 65 in William Wake House in Northampton. Patients are treated by experts in their field and have access to excellent facilities. Mackaness caters for men aged 18 years and over with ASD or a suspected ASD diagnosis. They may have suspected mental illness problems and emotional, challenging or offending behaviour. Due to their level of risk, patients would meet the criteria for detention under the Mental Health Act. These criteria are a guide for assessing suitability.
