The North East Centre for Autism opened in January 2013 on a 7-acre site in Newton Aycliffe. It houses a purpose built school for children aged 3-19 years. A specialist college for adults aged 19-25 years, residential care, short breaks and outreach services. The site has a range of leisure facilities including a gym, sports hall and swimming pool.
