Poppins (short break service)

Type of service: Respite and short breaks

Poppins offers short breaks to children and young people (up to the age of 18 years) with autism and aspergers syndrome. Situated in Gwennap, near Redruth, Poppins is a large bungalow which can cater for four people at one time. The young people who visit are allocated an appropriate peer group and are supported in their stays by an enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff. Both in-house and external activities, such as baking, trampoline, visits to local parks, beaches, walks, bowling, shopping trips are planned. Young people are encouraged to interact with others and to develop new skills.
