Portfield School is an independent non maintained special school that cares for children and young people aged 3-19 years on the autism spectrum, with associated learning and developmental difficulties, and also higher functioning autism. The school offers daily education and also flexible boarding for up to 52 weeks and is also the site of Wessex Lodge respite facility. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the students. Portfield School is provided by Autism Wessex who cater for autism and other developmental disorders, learning disabilities and associated mental health problems with both adults and children.
