Queensway HLC
Main information
Type of service: Day schools, Schools
Queensway HLC endeavours to create a safe and caring environment that is purposeful and structured encouraging everyone to be treated with respect and dignity. We value everyone’s contribution to school life including students, parents, staff, Governors and the Local Authority. Families should apply to Telford and Wrekin Local Authority to secure a place at Queensway HLC. The purpose of the education we offer is to provide a broad and balanced challenging curriculum which is relevant to students' needs and enable them to make progress. We promote opportunities for students to discover and develop their potential through and beyond the curriculum, enabling them to function independently in the community. At Queensway HLC we support students aged from 10-19 years whose diagnosis necessitate placement in a smaller caring environment with facilities and class sizes and student/teacher ratios in order to access education. The difficulties experienced by our students can be complex and varied and manifest themselves in a variety of ways. It is our belief that all students have the right to succeed both educationally and socially and we work with families to ensure a learning environment where all students are valued as an individual. Volunteers may be accepted. The places where pupils are accepted varies dependant on the skills they have to offer or the individual needs of the students. How autism specific is this service: 85%. Educational Phase: Year 6-Year 13.
