Sansa House
Main information
Type of service: Residential services
Sansa House offers a home for life for adults with severe learning disabilities and complex restrictive behaviours, usually associated with autism, including self-injury and behaviour that may put others at risk. They may have additional needs associated with epilepsy and sensory impairments. Continuous, 24-hour, one-to-one or greater support is provided, including waking night staff. The home is registered for five adults.
The environment is continually risk-assessed and adapted to meet the ongoing needs of each person. It allows for individual expression and a shared community life. Many in-house and community opportunities are provided that enable the residents to develop life skills and engage in activities that they enjoy. The house is a large detached house with five individual flatlets all with ensuite bathrooms, all of which have an additional private lounge area that can be personalised according to individual preference and needs. In addition, the home has a shared lounge, dining room, kitchen and activity room. There is also a separate laundry and office. The home has two secure garden areas that can be accessed via numerous external exits. Sansa House is in a residential area of Basingstoke, close to local facilities such as shops, pubs, and a leisure complex, all within a five-minute car journey of the town centre. Basingstoke is a large, prosperous and modern town, with a good road system and major in- and out-of-town shopping areas. A main rail station provides frequent services to London and the South.
