St Matthew’s Church of England Primary School
Main information
Type of service: Day schools, Schools
The name of the unit for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the Special Needs Support Centre (SNSC). The SNSC at St Matthew's School is a specific centre for children with ASD. All the children have personalised learning and are integrated into the mainstream wherever possible. We use Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH) and other ASD strategies to signpost and progress the children's learning and life skills. All children who attend have had to go through Surrey's 'panel' to ensure a place. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
