A home visiting teaching service for pre-school children in Stockport who have special needs, including autism. All members of the Service have had additional training on ASD. There is a specialist ASD Portage worker who offers regular home visits and support to families, supports children in non maintained settings, writes Individual Education Programmes (I.E.P.s), manages a specialised resource base within the service and is part of the Multi-Disciplinary Assessment for Autism Team at Stepping Hill Hospital.
