At Tadley Court we take a child-centred approach and focus on the needs of each individual pupil to create a framework that promotes self-confidence and self-esteem. The school is specifically designed for pupils with autism. From the individual education plans to the sports and activities programme, to details in lighting and the colour and audio cued environment. Within a safe, structured and predictable environment, pupils will develop the skills needed to live as independently as possible so they are able to enjoy their lives and make real life choices as they reach adulthood. The school runs on a three-term year across 38 weeks for both residential and day pupils. Respite care and extended day programmes are also be available if required. Sport and recreation facilities include a purpose-built sports hall and a nature trail. Residential areas are themed and colour coded and provide a homely environment for children. They include lounges, quiet rooms and some bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Emergency, planned and residential respite services are offered by this school to its own pupils only. The school is adjacent to Tadley Common which is a site of specific scientific interest with an abundance of natural forna and wildlife. The school also has quiet areas within the grounds which include a bird feeding station and a 'screened' pond. This school opened in April 2006..
