The name of the unit for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is The Marion Centre. The Marion Centre provides specialist teaching in small groups (maximum of 6) for children with an ASD. There are 6 classes at present. The Centre will eventually cater for approximately 42 pupils ranging from 11-19 years. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Training and support is available following the interview. The school has a religious affiliation in the Church of Wales but has an open policy in mainstream and The Marion Centre allows pupils of all faiths or none. Current number of children on roll: 34 (expanding to 42). Number of teachers: 7. Number of teaching assistants: 14. Current number of classes: 6. The Marion Centre is a state-of-the art specialist facility. The new building opened in September 2012.
