The name of the Base for pupils with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the Mainstream Autism Resource Base. Tudor Grange Academy (formerly known as Kingsley College) is a comprehensive high school for both boys and girls aged between 13 years and 18 years. The school is on a site of 23 acres with extensive playing fields and a dual use sports centre with swimming pool. The Mainstream Autism Resource Base is located in the technology block, a suite of four rooms: reception area, kitchen / office and two leisure / teaching / computer rooms. At present there are twelve students, one teacher and six teaching assistants (full and part time). The students attend mainstream classes and are taught in the Base, they are supported when and where necessary. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. We are asked to provide opportunities for work experience on occasion.
