This is a day school for pupils from 2-19 years with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). There is discrete ASD provision at each Key Stage (KS) with small groups / high staffing ratio. Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH) systems are used throughout the school and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) for all who require it. The school is a Specialist School for Communication and Interaction and is currently working towards ASD Accreditation. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Volunteers are assessed for suitability to work in ASD classes.
