Type of service: Family support and information services

Offers a range of activities such as information, advice and support, training and social activities to carers. The service operates from one main office in Clydebank and also operates a variety of outreach bases within Dumbarton and Alexandria. The main office is open Monday to Friday 9:30am - 4;30pm. During these times carers from across West Dunbartonshire are welcome to drop- in, telephone or visit by prior arrangement. It supports existing and former carers and endeavours to identify hidden carers within the community it serves. The centre has links with various specific support groups for parents of children with autistic spectrum disorders. Social events organised by the centre are regular and varied. The centre also offers alternative therapies/activities to carers and has a quarterly newsletter.
