The Resource Base takes up to six pupils who have a diagnosis of being on the autism spectrum, and who have had difficulties coping in mainstream classes. All pupils have a statement of educational need, and have been allocated a place through the Local Education Authority's (LEA's) complex panel (special educational needs) (SEN). Pupils are educated in groups with others with ASD and in mainstream classes. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils depending on staff/pupil ratio. Another disability cater for by the school is selective mutism.
