At Innova House the philosophy is that all should have an ordinary life. The residential centre for learning disability comprises of individual purpose built houses set in a safe community based complex designed for single occupancy or small group living. The company optimises the potential of each service user, developing skills and building on strengths and confidence through ordinary life principles. Innova House works closely with local employment initiatives to gain support for service users to access work experience and paid work opportunities. Links with the local college also provide a vast amount of opportunities for service users to access various training courses to promote their independence and social inclusion. Innova House focuses on enabling service users to experience social inclusion with the local and wider community. This is achieved by supporting people to attend venues of their choice and to mix with their peers and neighbours. The service user has the option of going out alone with their support or within a small group. Each activity is service user led which enables flexibility for each person to do what they prefer rather than what is best for the service. Volunteers may be accepted to work with service users.
