Ysgol Hendre is a special school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD). Pupils with autism in addition to a MLD are included in the main body of the school and where necessary taught in a class designated for visual learners. Other facilities offered by the school are design and technology and motor vehicle. A unit for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in development and consultation for September 2014 to become ASD entry criteria unit for pupils with ASD needing inclusion within a smaller special school environment. Residential short breaks provision is just for their own pupils.
