3 Barn Rise
Main information
Type of service: Residential services
At 3 Barn Rise we support six men with learning disabilities and behaviour issues. Everyone is involved in weekly activities of their choice, both in the home and in the community. The men attend Willesden Resource Centre, St Joseph’s Pastoral College and Larches Community Centre where activities include art and craft, cookery, sensory sessions, music sessions, dance and movement therapy and communication. Four of the men have a Person Centred Package at college. This course includes music and listening, skills development through art, communication, writing and pottery. We also offer community based activities such as bowling, swimming, keep fit sessions and holidays. The service also offers art therapy, music therapy, aromatherapy, foot spa sessions. The men are involved in the day to day running of their home. Choice is offered by giving alternatives and information for the men to make informed and appropriate decisions. This encourages independence and the opportunity to develop basic living skills.
