3 Craigdale Road
Main information
Type of service: Supported living schemes
3 Craigdale Road offers a Transitional Supported Living Service for up to five adults/young people with learning disabilities or people with autistic conditions. All bedrooms have en-suites and the environment benefits from several communal areas. The target group are those aged 17+ who are either looking to leave their family home for the first time, are transferring from a residential education establishment or who may have been living in residential care and want to develop their skills of daily living and independence. As the name of the service implies this is a transitional service and will on average last up to three years, the intention being that during their time living at Craigdale Road the individual gains skills and confidence to be able to move on into more semi-independence / independent accommodation, whether that it is sharing a house, having your own flat in a block of flats where other vulnerable people live or being in your own community. Each person has a weekly / monthly programme to follow which is focused on goals identified during the pre-assessment, objective goals will be set that are measurable and have outcomes, i.e. the ability to learn how to make a cup of tea, toast, clean their room, join a leisure club, right through to complex goals such as travel training, obtaining and maintaining voluntary or paid employment/attending college.
