3 Dimensions is a well-established (2004) small company with one very special school and three very special homes. 3 Dimensions School is a small independent special educational needs (SEN) school for 16 pupils (boys and girls). The school specialises in providing a tailored programme of education delivering a curriculum to pupils with autism, learning difficulties and/or other related communication difficulties, using positive behaviour management including applied behaviour analysis (ABA)/verbal behaviour (VB) approach. Children have access to 1:1 teaching for new and challenging skills and as skills become acquired the expectation is to gradually build up to small group learning. 3 Dimensions provides a holistic approach where all staff have knowledge and understanding of autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), health issues and promotion of good health and self-care and receive induction and ongoing training including positive behaviour ABA/VB and Makaton. We provide residential or boarding in all three of our homes and day tuition. The school also offers respite services for borders in a homely environment available from 1 day a week to 24/7 respite. 3 Dimensions support transitions for those about to enter into adult services, including arranging visits to the new centre and providing assistance to the new team where necessary. We also provide our own adult care facility for those who are more vulnerable. This allows us to transfer the Positive Behaviour Management strategies that have proven successful for our young people into an 18+ support package. The school caters for Key Stage 2 (KS2) up to secondary & post 16.
