78 Park Road
Main information
Type of service: Residential services
78 Park Road is a residential service catering for adults
with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). London Care Partnership aims to provide
services to young people with learning disabilities, autism and challenging
behaviour in their lives. We provide care and support for individuals with
autism. Planned and structured, each day aims to bring a sense of security and
routine to these young people who have trouble with social interaction,
communication and imagination. We aim to help those with complex emotional,
learning and health needs, including epilepsy, mental health conditions and
different syndromes. Guided by the Care Programme Approach, we take time to
assess each case, planning flexible support to each individual's specific
needs. We carry out a risk assessment, setting goals and outcomes. We maintain
and review progress, keeping all key stakeholders informed and up-to-date. We
support individuals with learning difficulties who may be physically and
verbally aggressive, and those with signs of self-injurious behaviour. Some who
come to us have had a number of hospital admissions or placement breakdowns. By
identifying early signs of challenging behaviour, we can adopt a proactive
(rather than reactive) approach. We aim to succeed in helping young people
begin to enjoy community living, develop new skills and discover independence.
