Abbey Hill has a large population of pupils with autism / autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This includes 7 autism specific classes for pupils with higher levels of need. Dance and drama are available as aprt of the approach. The Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) framework is used. Structured teaching is used. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
