Aberlour Options - Borders provides a range of short break respite care and support services for parents and carers with children affected by learning disabilities in the Borders.
Support includes residential short breaks, outreach within the local community and summer play schemes. This service not only provides families with a short break and time to 'recharge', but it brings together children with significant learning disabilities living within the Scottish Borders Council area.
The service offers:
• residential short breaks - the residential provision consists of weekend breaks, mid-week breaks and school holiday breaks,
• an after-school service to supplement the support provided by residential short breaks,
• playschemes - provided during the 7 weeks of summer school holidays,
• daycare provision at weekends; offers support to children and young people within their local communities.
