Access all Areas is a theatre company for people with learning disabilities based in Hackney, London. We run a whole range of projects to include: Black Cab Theatre: A weekly performing arts project for people with a mild to moderate learning disability that leads to professionally led productions for the general public; Train me up: An accredited training programme in theatre related skills that enables people to move towards employment opportunities, currently running in association with Central School of Speech and Drama; Spinning Yarn: A multi sensory movement and music project for people with severe and profound and multiple learning disabilities; a professional company: A core ensemble of actors with mild learning disabilities who want to bring their work to a wider audience in a range of venues and performance styles; and The Triple Agency: A specialist actors agency with a talented group of actors with learning disabilities that have successfully fulfilled many professional contracts in TV, radio and theatre. Aims: To encourage members to share their ideas and experiences in an atmosphere where they will be listened to and respected, and to be given the opportunity to learn both performance skills and life skills; To train and develop a new generation of professional theatre makers; To promote positive role models of people with a learning disability; To provide a platform to showcase theatre work by people with a learning disability; and To provide a safe space.
