Main information
Type of service: Play and leisure, Respite and short breaks, Family support and information services
Achievement Bute is a voluntary organisation with charitable status, which was set up in 1998 by parents of children with disabilities living on Bute. The intention was to improve facilities and leisure opportunities for children and their families on the island. We provide a range of inclusive children's activities and an individualised family support service. Our inclusive children's events, clubs and holiday activities are designed to ensure that all children can participate, regardless of ability or disability. Both services complement each other, with the aim of enabling children with disabilities and their families to live their lives to the full. The Family Support Service provides dedicated, families-led care and support. A person-centred flexible approach is adopted. We have also recently received funding for an ASD transitions project, see left for more details.
