A SPace Autism Services

Main information

Type of service: Outreach - education, Social groups, Social skills

Primarily we offer Saturday and Thursday evening social and emotional development groups for children and young people with a diagnosis of autism who are in mainstream education. However, we also cater for those who attend specialist provision. We cover from KS2 to college age and are hoping to go beyond. We meet at the Arbor Centre Pyrford on Saturday and the Phoenix Cultural Centre in Woking City Centre on Thursday evenings. We work on the group member's self esteem and social skills through motivating activities and include working on emotional development addressing questions that arise from the students home, family, school and community lives. For our primary aged students we work on a live drama project which we show to family and friends termly. For secondary age and above we make movies on the subjects that interest the group members. Volunteers may be accepted.
