Type of service: Assessment, Hospital services, Interventions and therapies

Astley Court, based at Little Plumstead Hospital and run by HPFT, is an inpatient Assessment and Treatment service commissioned to support people with learning disabilities in Norfolk who require a short period in hospital when in crisis, regarding their mental health. This is a unit for 12 service users at a time where they will stay for three to four months before returning to the community, supported by a tailored package of care delivered either in their homes, in supported living environments or in residential care.

Eligibility

Age: From age 18 to 65

Aimed at: Adult

Registrations & Approaches

Specialisms: Has autism-specific elements, Staff and volunteers get autism awareness training

Other specialisms: Challenging behaviour, Learning disability

Registrations and professional qualifications: Integrated Team offering full MDT. Team members individually belong to professional bodies - GMC, NMC etc. Interventions are very individualistic and integrated with community team professionals.
