Autism First provide specialist intervention for children and young people between birth and 25 who have autism spectrum disorder or differences in social interaction. We believe in an holistic approach to intervention and draw upon a variety of evidence based treatment techniques. Our team of therapists are trained in the use of SCERTS, Hanen, Intensive Interaction, Makaton and PECS. We are all fully qualified Speech and Language Therapists with specialisms in autism and our Clinical Manager is working towards a Masters of Education specific to Autism Spectrum Disorders. Autism First additionally offer a multi disciplinary assessment clinic with an experienced Clinical Psychologist; Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist. We use a variety of standardised and clinical observation to assess social communication and offer assessment in line with NICE guidelines. Our team is trained in the administration and interpretation of the ADOS 2 assessment and use this as part of the assessment process.
