The Autistic Spectrum Advisory Service (ASAS) offers training courses for parents and professionals, and a range of pupil support. The servcice consists of professionals who have specific training, knowledge and experience in working with children and young people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The service is managed by an adviser. A Senior Educational Psychologist for ASD, Assistant Advisory Officer, Teachers and Autism Intervention Officers also work for the Service. The service provides training for parents and professionals. Advice and support provided by the ASAS is based on a combined skills approach which includes: TEACCH, social learning approaches such as social stories, PECS, relationship based approaches and behaviour approaches such as ABA.
