A parent-run group supporting children on the autistic spectrum. Issues a monthly newsletter and organises a range of activities: a youth club (ages 7-16); monthly social activities group for people aged 12-18yrs old with Asperger syndrome or high functioning autism; play schemes; swimming; trampolining. Provides a library of books and DVD's. Works with Local Authorities and the NHS to promote parents' views in determining the services required. Members comprise parents, health, education and social care professionals and wider family members. AWARE parents meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Child Development Centre, Airedale General Hospital at 8pm.
