Bank Hall Farm
Main information
Type of service: Residential services
At Bank Hall Farm, we provide 24/7 specialist residential support for people with autism and Asperger syndrome. We recognise the importance of choice, but also how hard this can be for someone with autism and Asperger syndrome, so we seek to support people to understand what it is to make a choice and the consequences that follow. Our approach to support: Our team of professionals offer over 15 years of specialist experience working with autism spectrum conditions (ASCs). Each member of staff receives regular training in specific areas including: impairment of social communication, social imagination and social relationships. At Bank Hall Farm we work closely with a range of specialists such as: Local multidisciplinary teams; Speech and language therapists; Sensory therapists; Nutritionists; Mental health teams; and Psychology support. All people supported at Bank Hall Farm are assigned a key worker who looks after each individual's care plan. Key workers encourage and support individuals to attain their personal goals, which could include activities such as volunteering and paid employment. Those living at Bank Hall Farm are encouraged to raise issues and to discuss ideas at monthly 'Your Voice' meetings. At these meetings, individuals can influence how Bank Hall Farm operates on a day-to-day basis. Topics of discussion can include activity planning, menus and refurbishment plans. Individuals who do not wish to take part in these meetings are represented in different ways, to ensure that everybody's voice is heard.
